Chapter 88

“Looks good,” Jim said.

“Ditto,” Carl said.

“Want to see the house?” Tom said. “I don’t think the lights have been turned off yet.”

“Sure,” George said, speaking for the rest of the gang.

Tom led them around to the front door and unlocked it. They walked through every room in the house. When they were in through the master suite, George said, “I’ve been in a lot of houses that date back to this era, and I don’t think this master suite is original.”

“It’s not,” Tom said. “My grandparents actually lived in this house for several years, and they made a number of improvements. I think they took out a small bedroom and a nursery in order to create this master suite.”

“They certainly did a good job,” George said.

“Will refinishing the floors be difficult?” Noah said.

“Not at all,” George said. “After the painting is done, all you have to do is rent a sander. Mike and I will walk you through it. You’ll get the hang of it very quickly.”
