Back on the balcony, I said, “We’ve done a lot today. What did we forget?”
“Well,” Mike said, “I was thinking that it would be nice if we could get the place thoroughly cleaned before the furniture arrives.”
“Any ideas?”
“No, but let’s look for the twins tomorrow morning when we walk. They’re bound to know somebody.”
“That sounds like a plan.”
We didn’t see the twins Tuesday morning, but we stopped by Re/Max on the way to lunch and talked Hugh into giving us a key to the cabin. The twins stepped out of the woods and joined us later that afternoon. We didn’t even see or hear them coming.
“Hi, guys,” Mike said. “We were looking for you this morning but didn’t see you.”
“We were busy doing chores for Ma,” Zeb/Zeke said. “You got more work for us?”
“Maybe not for you,” I said, “but for somebody. We need to have the cabin cleaned and mopped from top to bottom tomorrow afternoon or Thursday morning. Do you know anybody who’d want that job?”
