Tonight was just taking it to a whole new level.
We rose higher and higher, probably not as
high as a helicopter might go, but higher than any high-rise
apartment or amusement park ride. Although I saw lights in the
distance, I knew that we were far from any city or town because the
lights were scattered, and there was no accumulation of lights in
the distance. Occasionally, we flew over what a small grouping of
lights. I surmised that these must have been farm houses or other
rural homes. In several directions I could make out what I believed
to be mountains. I was a little cold, but the robe was actually
thicker than I realized, and staring at the stars seemed to keep my
mind off of my body temperature. He said nothing as we flew, and I
wondered if he could read my thoughts, the way that he projected
his own into mine.
After what seemed like the better part of an
