Chapter 27

“I’m okay with that,” Quentin said. “Just let me know when and where.”

“I’ll give you a call tomorrow. Meanwhile, I think it’s time for us to go,” George said. “And thanks for making my day.”

“You can take this stuff with you, if you like,” Quentin said, and put all the documents and photos in a large manila envelope. “There’s also a CD in there—it’s got copies of the photos I showed you, along with photos of every license tag on those vehicles.”

“You’ve been busy, Q,” Carl said.

“Yeah, but I won’t get paid for it,” Quentin said.

“Maybe there’ll be a reward or two out there for information on the missing persons and vehicles,” George said.

“That sounds good to me,” Quentin said. “Renting that chopper and pilot for a couple of hours wasn’t cheap.”

Quentin showed George and Carl out of the office, set the alarm, and drove his car around to the house, where he found Nate and Dwight sitting in the living room, wineglasses in hand.
