“Thanks,” Dwight said.

Jacksonville, FLSaturday morning

QUENTIN AWOKE TO the smell of coffee drifting up the stairs, and looked at the bedside clock. When he saw what time it was, he nudged Nate.

“Time to get up, babe. It’s late.”

Nate rolled over and looked at Quentin. “How late?”

“Look at the clock,” Quentin said, as he got out of the bed. “I’m headed for the bathroom.”

Without waiting for Nate to reply, Quentin went to the master bathroom, and quickly went through his morning routine. He emerged several minutes later, showered, shaved, and dressed for the day.

“Wake up, Nate. You need to get up and face the day.”

“I was just waiting for you to finish in the bathroom.”

“You could have joined me in the shower, you know that,” Quentin said.
