Chapter 38

Mrs. Wilson went back inside the house, and Quentin said, “Have a seat, Mr. Wilson.”

“Don’t mind if I do,” Mr. Wilson said. “That woman, bless her heart, is never quick about these things.”

“How long can you stay with us, Grandpa?” Nate said.

“That depends on what the doctors tell us, Nate; so, we’ll play that one by ear, I think.”

“You’re more than welcome to stay with us as long as you want, or need to,” Quentin said.

“I appreciate that, Quentin, but it’s too much to ask Nate to drive us down to Ocala and back every day. If we decide to stay more than a few days, I think we’ll probably go to a hotel in Ocala. I did some research on the Internet, and there’s a Holiday Inn Express just a few blocks from the hospital.”

“You don’t want to walk back and forth to the hospital, do you?” Nate said.

“Of course not, but surely they have taxicabs?”

“I’m sure they do,” Nate said. “Still, I don’t mind driving you down there every day, if need be. It would be great to have your company.”
