Chapter 49

Father Cullen talked to Nate and the Wilsons for quite a while, and was still going strong when his wife tapped him on the shoulder and said, “John, we need to be going.”

He looked at his watch. “You’re right, dear. We have more calls to make and need to move on.”

“That’s not a problem, John,” Quentin said. “We appreciate your fitting us into this evening’s schedule.”

“We certainly do,” Mrs. Wilson said. “You’ve given us a great deal to think about.”

Quentin walked to the door with the Cullens, thanked them again, and stood watching as they got into their car and drove away. As he closed the front door, he heard Mrs. Wilson say, “What a nice young man.”

“Yes, he is,” Nate said. “We like him a lot. If you’re still here Sunday morning, you can come to church with us.”

“I don’t think we’ll be here quite that long, but thank you for asking,” Mrs. Wilson said.

“You’re welcome to stay as long as you like, Grandma,” Nate said.
