“Of course, sweetheart. Now tell me. How was your trip to Los Angeles?”
“You might call it successful. Drum will be returning to the OIG if he hasn’t already.”
“And you know why he ran away?”
“Unfortunately, yes.” As I explained the situation, I plugged my cell phone into Mother’s computer, pulled up the image of the letter, and sent it to the printer.
“It’s interesting how our lives circle around from one point to another. I wonder what Anacapri hoped to achieve with that drug.”
“Probably what she said. It was a way to get her hooks into a man that didn’t require her having to get up close and personal.” Mark seemed a little distracted, unusual for him, but then he shook his head. “She left that to Lynx.”
“Wouldn’t using Rohypnol have given her much the same results?” Mother asked.
