Then Zoe stepped up to me, wrapped her arms tightly around me and whispered, “We are going to figure all of this out. I promise.”

“I know,” I responded, my voice almost breaking with emotion. I had no idea what I would have done without them.

Even as they left, clicking the door closed behind them, my mind began to whirl once more with questions.
