Chapter 32

Nikoloz sucked in a breath as he lowered himself into the tub. “I believe I may also have overestimated my body temperature.”

“You practically were a Russian snowman when I found you, Kolya.” Vincent sat on the edge of the tub. “I don’t think I’ve ever been that worried about you.”“

“I was worried about me as well.” Nikoloz leaned back, favoring his right shoulder and arm. “I could not tell how much time had passed. I knew it would take you nearly two hours to drive back to the apartment and collect your gear.”

“I cut it to an hour and fifteen.”

“Then as long again to return to the factory. Say half an hour to get into the building.”

“True. I’d have made it in twenty but I couldn’t find the damn guards to dart them.”

“And I had no idea how long it would take you to locate me without the homing beacon.”

“That would have been handy, I’ll admit.”

Nikoloz sank lower in the water. “I have never been so cold, Vikushka. I was not entirely certain that you would arrive in time.”
