“Oh, to have that kind of energy,” Ellis said with a shake of his head, starting toward the door.
Martin stopped him, putting his hands on Ellis’s shoulders. “I love the finished painting, and the idea behind both of them.”
“They wouldn’t have happened if it wasn’t for you. I’d probably still be wallowing in my dark period, so to speak.”
“Those were good too, but not you.” Martin kissed him softly. “Not the real you I’ve come to know and care about.”
“They are, were a part of me.” Ellis frowned then smiled suddenly.
“What?”
“I think you’re good for me in more ways than one.”
“How so?”
“I just realized something. Since we’ve…been together, I haven’t had a dizzy spell. Not even a minor one. So I guess I can write off heat and age being the cause of them.”
Martin nodded. “I could have told you that. Stress does strange things to people. In your case it manifested itself in the dizziness.”
“I think so. Strange, but…”
