Chapter 5

“I know,” Pan replied cryptically as he got up from his seat.

“You know what?”

“I know who you’re going to choose.”

Seronisis smacked Pan playfully on the buttocks. “Do you now? Then you must be some kind of psychic becauseIdon’t even know yet. Nor will I until I’ve had more time to observe each of them a little more.”

Seronisis escorted Pan from the throne room. “What are your plans for the rest of the day?”

“I thought I’d wander down to the markets and find a nice piece of fish for your dinner.” From the corner of his eye he saw Seronisis about to protest. “I know we have staff to do that, but I want to do it. For you.”

Seronisis stopped and pulled Pan into a nearby nook. “Do you know how much I love you?”

Pan manufactured a look of confusion. He brought a finger to his chin and scratched it. “No, not really,” he replied, barely able to suppress a smile.

“Liar,” said Seronisis before he leaned in and kissed Pan.
