“The excuse we settled on is that, since he’s an older man, he’s decided it’s time for him to be less hands-on and hire you to take some of the load off his shoulders.”

Caiden nodded slowly. “That should work. I presume I’m not going in as myself.”

“No. Once you decide if you’re willing to do this, we’ll come up with a look for you.”

“I’m in. I want that bastard caught!”

“We thought you’d feel that way,” Rian said. “Of course it is, to use the vernacular, a crap shoot, but worth trying.”

“Let’s get down to business. I go in as the assistant-manager. Obviously I can’t do anything that says I’m willing to buy stolen art forthe gallery. It couldn’t be shown there without ruining Mr. Bernard’s reputation.” Caiden stood and began pacing.
