Chapter 19

“Thank goodness. When I left Ray, I only shipped the contents of the studio and my clothes plus a few basic necessities. And my computer stuff and paperwork from the galleries, of course.” Daniel smiled dryly. “I wanted to get out of town as fast as possible.”

“Can’t blame you for that.” Griffin poured the coffee while Daniel dished out the food and they sat down to eat.

“It doesn’t seem as if you mind living here,” Griffin said at one point.

“I don’t. I fell in love with this area when I came out to visit my grandparents when I was a kid. The house still needs some work.” He shook his head with amusement. “Mellie said I should tear up all the carpeting and paint the walls, and I think I probably will at some point. But I’m not going to do anything that will change the basics of the house, other than what I’ve already done by creating the studio. It’s a good building, and solidly built. Thankfully, Gramps had sense enough to put in a decent heating system.”
