In 1910, the United Kingdom is in turmoil. King Edward dies after only nine years on the throne. “I know. I was old enough to know better. I had a crush on you back then. I guess I was baiting you to see what your reaction would be.”


“I wondered if I didn’t catch a glimpse of a flirt in that meeting.” Leander grinned. “But I can tell you how wonderful it is to wake up with the person you love, Basil; start your day with him. Strong and I were lucky; we got to see each other throughout the day, and we cherished our leisure time in the evenings. “I supposed you’ve boiled it down to justify it to yourself.” Leander was quiet after his revelation. “Do you ever remember a time when you were happy with Mrs. Shocking?”
