On the second floor there were six bedrooms. “These two will be yours for as long as you’re here,” Jonah said, opening the doors to a pair at the end of the hallway. “You’ll share the connecting bathroom. Are you hungry?”
Straight-faced, Mars replied, “Does a duck like water?”
Jonah laughed. “I’ll take that as a yes. Why don’t you clean up and come back downstairs. Jeanie—” he glanced at Dylan, adding, “—my wife, can heat up the leftover spaghetti from supper.”
“Connecting bedrooms,” Mars said with a smirk after Jonah left. “I like that idea.”
“We can share the shower, too.” Dylan grinned.
