“Tonight. After Alastair’s left. I might really need it then.” Sean browsed through the TV channels, groaning. “Reality or a cop show?”

“There. The talent show. We can diss the contestants.”

They did just that, which helped Sean relax. Although why he was tense in the first place was a mystery to him. Usually when it came to doing what he did best, he was the epitome of calm, cool, and collected. But then I’m only going after things with monetary value, not…state secrets or something. Still, I managed to break into Cox’s office to get what we needed. How bad can anywhere else be? Very bad, he suspected, considering what C21 was all about.

Pax sat up suddenly, growling softly.

“Ease up, pup,” Sean told him, checking the time. “It’s only Alastair.”

“Good to know he can act as a guard dog,” Ken said, going to check before letting Alastair in.

“He has his moments.”

Alastair wasn’t the only one at the door. He was accompanied by a tall, raven-haired man in his early thirties.
