“Tell them to meet us here at the motel,” Sean said.
“Will do. By the way, Pax and I are bonding.” Alastair chuckled. “You might be down one dog by the time you get back.”
Sean laughed. “Uh-huh.” He had left Pax with Alastair before taking off with Mars to do the job, something Pax had not been too happy about. The dog was used to going everywhere with Sean.
While he and Mars waited, Sean did an online search for a good place to set up. He was counting on the fact the gang would be able to track him through his phone. What he needed was a safe spot where they could try to take him out—without there being any collateral damage to people nearby.
“Damn,” Mars said, when Sean explained what he had in mind. “For someone new to this kind of operation, you’ve gotten the hang of it real fast.”
Sean laughed. “Too much time spent watching bad cop flicks between jobs.”
“At least you picked up some pointers.”
“What do you think of this?” Sean tapped the screen.
