Chapter 20

To find Marty right behind him, a smoldering look on his face.

“What?” Rick asked, grinning slowly.

Marty stepped closer and eased his arms around Rick’s shoulders. “Missed you,” he murmured, one hand cupped around the back of Rick’s neck. With a gentle tug, he pulled Rick to him to claim a long, simmering kiss.

When they broke apart, Rick teased, “So, what’d you do today? That didn’tinvolve Pokémon, please.”

“One day you’re going to play that game, and you’re going to love it,” Marty told him. “And I’m going to enjoy hearing you apologize for talking bad about it all along.”

Rick laughed. “Well, sorry to say today isn’t that day. I’ve got a website to make.”

“Oooh, right. Let me see, let me see!” Marty hugged him tighter for a second, obviously excited—Rick was reminded of Micah again, if only because that was something a kid would do—then let him go and looked at the MacBook expectantly.

With another laugh, Rick asked, “What, right now? Don’t you want to eat first?”
