But he had his MacBook with him, and Marty’s shop had wi-fi, so as long as he was just sittinghere, he could make a few tweaks to it.

The evening passed in a pleasant blur, the two of them working on their separate projects, chatting amicably across the expanse of the empty comic shop. At one point Marty took a break and came over to grab another Coke from the mini-fridge, stopping long enough to lean heavily against Rick’s back as he peered over Rick’s shoulder. “Are you sureit isn’t ready to go live yet?” he asked, his breath ticklish along the top of Rick’s ear. “It looks damn near perfect to me.”

“It’s still on my server, for one,” Rick pointed out. “I’m going to need the login information for your webhost so I can configure the database before I even think about uploading the files.”

“Login for who?” Marty laughed. “I don’t even know what you’re talking about.”
