Chapter 47

The rest of the day was a blur of hammers and nails and saws and curses. Felix helped where he could—holding a board here, pounding a nail there—in between running out food and drink for the men. Molly pulled up when the barn’s exterior was nearly completed. Felix wasted no time jogging out to greet her.

“The outside at least,” Felix said.

“Good on ya, boys!” Molly shouted before saying to Felix, “I heard from your friends. Should be here tomorrow.”

“Tomorrow’s no good,” Felix said. “I’ve got plans.”

“What’s that?” Molly asked.

“I’ll go, but don’t bring them here, okay?”
