Chapter 65

Tommy wasn’t in the shop. Pat and Hal were, but not for long. They took off for the stage with me right behind them. We found Tommy making a final check of the set, and the riggings for the scenery which would be lowered for the second act scene change, as well as those for raising the first act scenery out of view.

Frank was walking the lighting bridge. I had the feeling he was double-checking that each light was securely in place. A falling light could do as much damage to someone as a falling piece of scenery—or a falling body. I suppose the people I worked with should be thankful no one was around when mine hit the floor.
