Kegan ignored him as he began to get dressed. Gage followed suit, putting on dark jeans, and a turtleneck under a black shirt. Kegan also dressed in dark clothing, then added his usual weapons
“Are we planning on coming back here?” Gage asked, followed by, “Why are we trusting him?”
“I don’t see any reason to,” Kegan replied to the first question. To the second he said, “Because he called, when he shouldn’t have if he planned to kill us. Because I have something I need to ask him. Presumably he got my number from the info on the stolen drive, but how the helldid he know about the cabin? No one does.”
“I’m not certain those are reasons to trust him, but I do see your point.”
With that settled, they packed their gear, and then Gage went down to the motel lobby to sign out. They met in the parking lot, where Gage tossed his bags in the trunk of his car, while Kegan put his things in the bike’s saddlebags.
