“All right. For starters, Niles and I were friends.” Ash shot them an amused look. “Yes. Believe it or not, I do have a few of those. We knew each other from way back. He’s the one who introduced me to Mason.”


Kegan cocked his head in question. “Presuming I believe you, did he know how much you would…enjoy your job?”


“In other words, did he know I was a bloodthirsty son of a bitch? He suspected, but as he said to me later, I got the job done. How was really of no consequence to him, as long as right person was eliminated. The fact that I sincerely like killing the bastards is what he called my one small flaw.”


“Not sure I’d call it small, having worked with you, but for now I’ll let that drop,” Gage said.
