“What about people who aren’t part of the criminal underground?” Bernie asked.

“It’s happened,” Gage replied. “I took out a man running for office who had mob connections.” He frowned. “At least that’s what I was told.”

“Lamberti,” Kegan said angrily. “Not the one he’s talking about, Bernie. Lamberti was a business man who, so Mason said, had gotten hold of information on several of his competitors and had threatened to use what he knew to destroy them, if they didn’t pay up. That’s what we were after when Tony was killed.”

“Did Kegan tell you about the external hard drives?” Gage asked Bernie.

“He mentioned them.”
