Chapter 15

“Here,” said Kiko, bringing him a cup and stifling a yawn. “Try to alternate the colors. You’re about to hang two pinks next to each other.”

Dom chugged his first cup of coffee. By the time Chad showed up, gigantic energy drink in hand and hollow look in his eyes, Dom had completely covered the ceiling in shining garland arcs and was debating whether he wanted to go with the eggs next or the hearts.

“Hey, boss, the other guy,” said Chad, yawning as he took off his coat. He popped the tab on the energy drink and took a gulp.

“Morning, Chad,” said Kiko, back to the teen. “Orders on the counter. How are you doing?”

“Oh, great,” said Chad. Kiko turned from the computer to look at him.

“I’m ‘the other guy’?” asked Dom.

“It’s literally too hard in the morning,” said Chad.

“You don’t look like you slept well,” said Kiko, and Chad shrugged at that.
