“I need you to keep the fire going so the pipes don’t freeze. The snow has stopped, but the temp hasn’t gone back up yet. The wind is howling, and with the wind chill, it could drop significantly lower. Stay on the property unless I tell you to go somewhere, okay?”


“Yes!” Dean and Coop said in unison.


“Smartasses.” Colt chuckled, but then got serious. “If I estimate correctly, I should be able to make it to where Kip is by noon and to Mikey by four. I’m hoping to get on the trail back by night fall. If I am not, do not panic. It means we are holed up because I guarantee I will find them. I’ll be in touch.”
