“Come to think on it, where have you been sleeping whilst I have been occupying your bed?” He couldn’t resist. Couldn’t resist watching a flood of colour surge across Will’s cheeks, even his ears turned red. Anything to divert the conversation from his weaknesses.


“Well, I know you usually wake up in a morning in the bed with me wrapped around you.”


Will made an odd choking sound and his eyes were wide.


“Not that I am complaining, you understand, not in the slightest.” He really should stop goading.


Will looked fit to burst. His eyes narrowed. “I slept in the chair. I slept in the chair to give you room to recover, but every night you woke screaming and weeping like a babe. I tried to calm you in case you burst your wounds open, but you clung to me like a damned vine so I had to stay where I was. Then when you awoke, you wanted to damned well kiss me.”
