Chapter 64

Eli set Sully in a chair as soon as they got to Eli’s room and placed another chair next to Sully and elevated his affected leg. Eli clicked on the light on the standing lampshade next to Sully, then searched the minibar in the room for a knife.

A soft knock on the door stopped Eli from continuing his search.

Eli’s eyebrows arched, and he silenced Sully with a signaled finger to his lips. Eli approached the door and sighed in relief. He sensed Josh was on the other side of the door before he confirmed it through the peephole. Eli opened the door and Josh beamed.

“Hey, I heard Sully. Is he there with you?” Josh balanced himself barefoot on crutches and moved past the door, stopping only because Eli blocked his path further.

“Yeah. He’s here. Where’s Adam?”

“He’s asleep. On Sully’s and my bed.” Josh leaned and whispered to Eli. “You told me to not let him leave the hotel room, right?”
