Chapter 34

I rubbed the back of my neck. “Lisa is exaggerating. I didn’t do anything but grab her hand and run with her to the train station. She’d already taken care of the guy. I just happened along toward the end of the tussle.”

“He protected me, Linds!” Lisa protested fiercely. “Mr. Yoo—Hanson—was the only one who did anything at all when I cried for help.” She sniffled a bit into Lindsey’s shoulder. “I was checking my phone and this guy appeared out of nowhere.”

Lindsey tilted back her head, and frowned. “What have I told you about using your phone at night, sister mine?” Ah, so they were siblings. He shook her lightly before hugging her even closer.

“I know, I know. But I’m okay.” She squeezed him before pulling away and taking my hand to tug me intothe kitchen. “Are you thirsty, Hanson? We have coffee, juice, soda…you want some water?” She chattered on as she rummaged through cabinets, searching for glassware or cups, I suppose.
