Chapter 38

After putting on a faded red T-shirt and the shorts, I sat in front of the T.V. and grabbed the remote, but after five minutes, I’d had enough. With nothing else to do, I decided I might as well go out and dosome shopping. I made a list and tucked it in my pocket before grabbing my phone and wallet and heading out.

I checked the Internet for the nearest grocery store and found a Super Walmart three miles away, and I could get there by bus. The bright sun caused me to shade my eyes as I waited at a stop, which had no shelter. I probably needed to buy some sunglasses, too, something I’d never worried about in the past.
