Chapter 60

“That’s okay, I don’t want to be a burden,” Sam said so flatly, Trevor wanted to hug him. Usually he would say that with a gleam in his eye, but Sam was not Sam right now, and it hurt Trevor to see his best friend in pain.

“You won’t be. You can get stronger and do things for yourself but at my place, so I can keep an eye on you. The nurse was here earlier. She is getting your discharge papers ready, but only if you stay with someone for a few days. It’s up to you if you stay here or come home with me.” Trevor could tell Sam was going to argue until he heard that he had to stay in the hospital or come home with him.

“Okay, I want out of here.” Sam smiled as he went to the bathroom door, he turned slightly and said, “Thank you, I won’t be a pain in the ass, I promise.” And Trevor would have probably believed it until Sam winked and chuckled.

“Great,” Trevor said to himself.
