Chapter 14

Across town, Tonio was thinking about Dirk, as well.

I’m going to have to let him be more involved the next time something like today goes down. That’s the whole reason Lex put him with the team, to see if he can handle himself. There’s enough of us that we can deal if he can’t, or if he makes some major mistake. I’d also better do some weapons training with him. Somehow I doubt he knows which end of a gun to point at someone. He grinned, picturing Dirk looking at a gun as if it was a snake about to bite him. And it could, if he doesn’t know what he’s doing.

As he paced his living room, Tonio muttered, “I wonder how good he is at self-defense? Another thing tofind out. If he’s lousy I’ll give him some good hands-on training with that as well.”

He smirked, imagining how that could go, and then reminded himself firmly that Dirk was Lex’s son and therefore hands-off when it came to being anything more than a member of the team.
