Castien shook his head and then nodded. “Not the last time,” he let him know.

“Thank the gods,” Theirn whispered elatedly. “But still I won’t be happy with our coming conversation.”

“Probably not,” Castien agreed.

“It has to do with why you and Daeron were meeting in private.” Again Castien nodded. Theirn essayed a guess. “He is sending you on a mission.” Another nod from his lover. “I am coming with you then.”

Castien shook his head vigorously. No.

Theirn slid off and sat beside Castien to stare down at him. “Yes. You will need me.” He put one hand over Castien’s mouth. “Without me, how will you communicate?”

With a roll of his eyes Castien mouthed, “As I always do.”

“I will come with you,” Theirn stated with no uncertainty.

“Lad, no.” Castien glared at him.

Theirn’s mouth tightened but he only said, “When you can speak again, then we will discuss this.”

“Bossy,” Castien told him, but a small smile played over his lips.
