“Necessity,” Theirn replied. “I was supposed to let the world know what was happening on the island but who listens to a thief. And I became in order to survive. In time I gave up even trying to make someone listen to me.”

“Well now you have three who take what you’ve said quite seriously,” Castien told him.

“Indeed,” Daeron agreed as he looked at Theirn and then Castien. “How much longer do you have?”

Castien frowned. “It depends on how much I will need to speak in the next day or two.”

“Then stop now. We can make new plans that involve Theirn, as much as I still am not happy with the idea, without your verbal input.”

“I am surrounded by males who think to run my life,” Castien grumbled, which earned him smiles from Daeron and Malcolm and a short, sweet kiss from Theirn who told him afterward, “Stop talking.”
