Not that Mason would say so. Not his problem but if they stood around arguing it would soon be an issue for everyone. The street remained empty for now but he didn’t like the way the noise echoed off the nearby walls. He gauged the chances of escape if zombies happened along in more than one direction but soon gave up trying. Enough of this.
Mason opened his mouth to interrupt when Cat jumped in. “Twat! Keep this up and you’ll bring more dead down on us. These men aren’t going to rape your sister. They want to fuck, they’ve got me.”
Her tone was all challenge and her stance all bravado—clearly she goaded a reaction—but still, Mason closed his eyes for a second. Way to go, Catherine.
“Whore!” Billy snarled.
“Better than pimping out a girl as zombie meat,” Cat shot back. Mason almost cheered her.
