Chapter 132

The food was delicious and Shawna didn’t charge me. I did leave her a hefty tip for her trouble. Before deciding to visit Tal’s upstairs flat, I said to her, “If you hear from your boss, tell him I’m looking for him.”

Shawna said that she would.

Once I was inside Tal’s flat above the Linear Bar, I noticed that his phone was missing from where it had been the day before. I called it from my phone and listened to his voice mail kick on almost instantly. Again, I left a message, “Tal, I’m looking for you. Where are you at? Contact me.” My tone was abrupt and to the point. Maybe a bit of panic was heard, which was probably true. I had to sound serious, though, concerned about his safety and whereabouts.
