Chapter 69

I find myself on the sofa and his lips are tracing the skin down my neck.

“Sean, talk to me.” I sigh from his kisses and smile. He hasn’t yet said a word and he’s so focused on what he’s doing, I wonder if he’s realized I’d even spoken. More than once.

Yes, he hears me, because he lifts his face and looks at me from above.

“I’m not able to have a rational discussion with you, Ryan. You piss me off like nobody else in this world, but at the same time, you can’t understand how cute you are when you open your heart without even realizing it.”

Am I cute? Is he serious?

I look at him and I must be wearing a questioning expression because he smiles and shakes his head, before moving down to kiss me slowly on the lips, while I keep my eyes wide open, staring at him.

“I’m not cute.” It’s better to express the concept out loud.

“Oh, yes, you are. You think nobody ever loved you and you think you never loved anybody because it was something that was never said.”
