The guys were already in the que for the tea dance and waved him up ahead into their group. The line was longer today, stretching almost to the street. Lots of guys, mostly young. But maybe a few guys in their thirties this time. Somehow it felt a bit different from the previous day.
“So how did you guys hold up in the heat and the blowing sand at the beach?” asked Dean.
“We made it until two, but only because we found a small pond behind one of the dunes. It was away from the blowing sand, and the water in the shallow pond was a lot warmer than the ocean, so swimming in it was great,” said Jerry.
