Josie woke the next morning feeling a little more like herself. She still had a low-grade headache, but I reminded her it was normal as I got her some painkillers. She wanted to be all better already, but that wasn’t going to happen. Her body needed time to heal. Just because she’d been released from the hospital didn’t mean she was back to a hundred percent. She knew all that, of course, but for all she was an amazing nurse, she was a horrible patient.
Of course when I suggested we postpone the trip to the yarn shop, I got a deadly glare.
Breakfast was a simple affair of cold cereal and coffee. I was willing to cook, but Josie insisted she just wanted cornflakes. That was fine with me. Eventually we were both showered and dressed, and since I had done laundry when Josie had been napping, I had clean clothes to wear. We headed out about ten o’clock.
