Chapter 3

The guys unloaded their bags into the backseat and buckled up, preparing for the short journey to campus. Evan turned the key into the ignition, and they were greeted by Our Lady Peace blasting from the speakers. Evan swiftly turned the volume down, apologizing to Lucas for the assault on his eardrums.

“Sorry. I like my music loud, if you couldn’t tell.”

“Good music should be played at a high volume.” Lucas reached over and turned the music up to normal listening volume and nodded his head to the beat.

Evan was pleased at this revelation. Tapping his fingers on the steering wheel to the rhythm of the song, he pulled out onto the street and headed toward campus. Along the way, he pointed out notable landmarks to Lucas and answered the few questions Lucas asked.
