“Yeah, well, my parents and siblings are always on me about getting married. So, I figured if I brought her they’d back off.”
“Oh,” was all Dwayne said in response.
“I’d like to spend some time getting reacquainted…if you’d like that,” Shay said tentatively.
“I would.”
“Where should I meet you? Are you staying at your mom’s?”
“No. At the Holiday Inn Express.”
“Is your mom ok?”
“She’s fine.”
“Then why the hotel?”
Dwayne gave Shay an impish grin. “Well, I was hoping that if you werehere, and things worked out…well, I thought maybe we’d like a bit more privacy.”
Shay’s body instantly responded to the implication. He smiled. “Let me talk to Melissa.” Shay walked over to where she stood, talking with Lilly and asked her to step aside with him.
“Uh…Dwayne and I would like to spend some time together…but I’m not sure…”
“What to do with your beard?” Melissa quipped with a grin.
Shay blushed. “Yeah.”
