Chapter 10

“Just make sure you are here by seven,” Tim shouted before I could fully escape.

Tim not wanting to leave me home alone wasn’t anything new. I would ask him to go places with me, but when he didn’t want to leave the house, there wasn’t anything you could do change his mind. But heaven forbid I wanted to stay home and have some alone time, or even just lie down for a quick nap. Tim would automatically get on the defensive and accuse me of wanting to avoid him.

This time he was right. I did want to avoid him, especially when he was around Charlie. But what I really wanted to do was sleep. That was where I could escape, where I could at least have some relief from the misery that I placed myself in. I know I could have ended the hell I was going through right then and there and just lived my life, but deep down, I still cared for the bastard. That’s pretty much why I stayed and endured what seemed like a never-ending punishment.
