The only thing I did know was that he didn’t even flinch when I mentioned I was gay. I took that as a good sign, but I wasn’t about to get my hopes up. He could just be really comfortable with his sexuality, and right now I could use a friend more than a lover.

“So, tell me about yourself. Who exactly is Kellan Horn?” I asked, hoping to change the subject to something more pleasant.

“That’s a good question. I don’t really know right now. After my divorce, I kind of felt a little lost. That’s why I moved here and switched to teaching at the college. I wanted a change of pace. At forty-two, it was really scary, but I think I made the right choice by coming here.” Kellan looked back at me with a strange expression.
