As I reached the door to my apartment, I could feel my phone buzzing in my pocket. I figured it was Tim trying to find out my whereabouts, so I would have just let it buzz, but something made me check. To my surprise, it was Kellan.
“Well, you certainly know how to make a man wait,” Kellan said with a hint of sarcasm.
“Sorry, I’m having a bit of trouble getting the dog back inside.” Scruffy stared at me with his dark brown eyes, as if he was offended that I used him in a lie. “What, don’t look at me that way,” I pleaded.
