Chapter 15

“I know, but I guess he’s not all that bad.”

“You didn’t think that way a few weeks ago,” Bobby said point-blank.

“I’m just trying to make the best of a bad situation.”

“I guess. But on another note, I must say, it is nice to see you put a little bit more effort into your look tonight.” Bobby turned back to the bartender and ordered another drink. I guess what he said was true. I had gone for a haircut before we went out, and I’d felt so good that I actually decided to shave.

I took a look around the room to scope out the action. Butchy’s had always been a bar for the older gay set, but now it seemed like a lot of young people flocked in. Tim had seen me, and he and Charlie were walking my way.

“I thought you were going out with friends,” Tim stated from behind. I turned around to greet him, but Bobby beat me to the punch.
