Chapter 36

Lennon hated himself for not having noticed before. “Made much progress on finding out who was behind the kidnapping, have you?”

Kaden scoffed. “Obviously a civilian like you has no idea how these things work. It takes time and legwork—”

“It was Russia.” Lennon folded his hands together on top of the stack of paperwork he’d brought with him.

Kaden and Ben exchanged glances. “Look, Len, I know you’re a genius and everything, but even you can’t have found that out in such a short time. You don’t have an international intelligence network. You don’t even speak Russian.” Ben’s tone was more conciliatory than Kaden’s, but he still sat beside his technical leader.

Rada sneered at the agents. “If anyone could figure it out, it would be Lennon.”

“Or you,” Lennon told her, without tearing his eyes away from Ben and Kaden.

“True.” Rada winked at Lennon. “I’m curious to know how you did it, but I do believe you.”
