Chapter 16

After we finished dinner, I put the dishes in the washer receptacle. Sol offered to help, but I shooed him toward the couch and insisted it wouldn’t take long. I joined him a few minutes later, and loved the way he leaned into me when I sat next to him.

“Listen, I want to run something by you. You don’t have to answer now. Take your time to think about it. But I want to put it out there.”

“I am listening.”

“I want you to think about moving in here with me. My quarters are bigger, and you can have the guestroom as your own if you’d like. But I’d like it if you were here. So I can be a part of this.” Boldly, I placed my hand on his belly. Sol moved my hand a bit lower, where I assumed his womb was located. “This is a miracle, Sol. I’m in awe of you.”
