Chapter 26

“We’ll know soon enough.”

He had turned the corner, but within two blocks, he turned again, pulling into a narrow alley that led behind a row of shops. It opened up into a small lot, and he angled into the first available space.

“Hang on, don’t get out yet.” Christopher yanked his keys out of the ignition and got out, jogging around the front of the car to Gage’s door. He opened and held it wide. “Keep the pressure on your arm. I’ll get all the doors.”

“You weren’t kidding when said you lived near the beach,” Gage commented as he followed. Christopher took him through the side entrance that opened directly to his apartment. “Wow. This place is…really nice.”
