“Thank you.” I smiled at him and Mindy, but mostly at Hyde. “Bon appétit, everyone.”

After her reticence on the porch, Mindy became very talkative. However, all she wanted to talk about was her wedding and the changes she planned to make to their suite in Llewellyn Manor—

“You’ll be living there?” That came as a surprise to me. Didn’t every bride want a home of her own?

“Yes. Father Marcus thinks it will be more convenient if he needs to talk to Geoff…”

I lost the rest of what she was saying. All I could think was that it was a good thing Sir’s first name wasn’t William. Father William. I tried to swallow my laughter and nearly inhaled my wine.

Geoff took that opportunity to nudge my ankle.

“Sorry,” I whispered. “I apologize, Mindy. That was inappropriate of me. You were saying?”

She looked a little confused, but continued. “We’ll have the entire third floor. And as a wedding gift, Grandpapa is giving me a blank check to redecorate.”
